Michael (“Mich”) K. Bayley
President and CEO
Mr. Bayley founded SPExpress in 2002 for the purpose of providing high quality and cost-effective shipping and logistics solutions and services for companies in the Southwest and Western United States. He oversees the company's day-to-day operations from the SPExpress corporate headquarters located in Tucson, Arizona.
Mr. Bayley has over 20 years experience in corporate finance, operating, building and investing in fast growing companies across multiple industries. Prior to founding SPExpress, Mr. Bayley was co-founder and CFO of PrimeSource Healthcare, a leading manufacturer and distributor of specialty medical products in the United States. As CFO, Mr. Bayley successfully completed a number of debt and equity offerings and negotiated, acquired and integrated 11 strategic acquisitions including a reverse merger with a public company. Prior to PrimeSource, Mr. Bayley was a Vice President with Chase Manhattan Bank in New York City. He spent a number of years in Chase’s Merchant Banking and Private Equity Investment Division where he helped manage several of the bank’s portfolio companies.
Mr. Bayley was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio and graduated with honors from the University of Arizona with a bachelor’s degree in geological engineering. He earned his M.B.A. from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. Mr. Bayley may be contacted at mbayley@spexpress.com.
Jake Jacobs
General Manager and Director of Operations
Mr. Jacobs serves as General Manager and Director of Operations for SPExpress. He oversees the company’s operations in Rancho Cucamonga, California, Phoenix, Arizona and Tucson, Arizona. Mr. Jacobs is based at the company’s corporate headquarters in Tucson, Arizona.
Mr. Jacobs has over 25 years of experience with an extensive background in the logistics, distribution, and international freight industries. He spent a number of years with leading companies such as EDI Express, Emery Global Logistics and Daylight Transport. While with these organizations, Mr. Jacobs served in a number of management, operational and business development roles. During his career, Mr. Jacobs has successfully developed, implemented and directed numerous projects resulting in exponential growth and revenue.

Jean C. Reehl
Vice President and Director of Business Development
Ms. Reehl serves as Vice President and Director of Business Development for SPExpress. Ms. Reehl helps oversee the company’s Business Development activities and works out of the corporate headquarters located in Tucson, Arizona.
Ms. Reehl has over 30 years of experience in the mail order and direct mail industries. During that time, her experience has covered sales and marketing, customer service, management, client liaison and many facets of operations. Prior to joining SPExpress, Ms. Reehl served as President and CEO of Fulfillment Services, a Tucson based distribution and fulfillment company. Prior to joining Fulfillment Services, she served as President and CEO of The Mailing Company in El Paso, Texas. In addition, she held various management and administrative positions with Norm Thompson Outfitters in Portland, Oregon.
Ms. Reehl is a native of Portland, Oregon and attended Portland State University. While she has lived in many parts of the country, Southern Arizona has been home for 18 years. Ms. Reehl may be contacted at jreehl@spexpress.com.
Samuel P. Grillo
Business Development
Mr. Grillo serves as a senior Business Development Executive with SPExpress. Mr. Grillo helps oversee the company's Business Development activities and works out of the corporate headquarters located in Tucson, AZ.
Mr. Grillo has nearly 20 years of experience in the catalog, warehousing and distribution services industries. Prior to joining SPExpress, Mr. Grillo spent a number of years with leading companies such as Spiegel, Distribution Fulfillment Services and Arizona Mail Order, having operated highly automated mail order and retail distribution centers. While with these organizations, he served in a number of different senior management and lead operational roles. During his career, Mr. Grillo has successfully managed and directed a number of multi-million dollar projects from conception through implementation. He has extensive experience in all facets of operations and a proven track record of success. Prior to Spiegel, Mr. Grillo co-founded an independent trucking company based in the Chicago, Illinois area.

David B. Lynch
IT Manager
Mr. Lynch serves as IT Manager for SPExpress. Mr. Lynch has responsibility for all aspects of the company’s IT and infrastructure within all SPExpress facilities. Mr. Lynch is based at the company's corporate headquarters in Tucson, Arizona.
Mr. Lynch has been with the organization since inception and has played a key role in developing the company’s systems and infrastructure to date. Mr. Lynch has extensive knowledge of the U.S. Postal Service’s systems and procedures and serves as the company’s liaison to the U.S. Postal Service. Mr. Lynch continues to play a key role in shaping SPExpress into customer centric logistics company by providing clients with customized solutions to meet their varying business needs.
Mr. Lynch was born in Fort Collins, Colorado and was raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He attended the University of Arizona, where he received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. Mr. Lynch may be contacted at dlynch@spexpress.com.
Timothy S. Thackrah
Inventory and Quality Assurance Manager
Mr. Thackrah serves as the Inventory and Quality Assurance Manager for SPExpress. Mr. Thackrah also assists Mr. Jacobs in overseeing the day-to-day operations for all SPExpress facilities. Mr. Thackrah has co-responsibility for all aspects of the company’s operations and plays an integral part in developing the business processes, procedures, as well as systems necessary for SPExpress to provide increasing levels of service to its customers. Mr. Thackrah is based at the company's corporate headquarters in Tucson, Arizona.
Mr. Thackrah has been with the organization since its inception and has played a key role in supporting the company’s rapid expansion, as well as shaping the company’s operations, Inventory, and Quality Assurance programs, with a customer-focused approach and a belief in continuous improvement.
Mr. Thackrah was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. He attended the University of Arizona where he received a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Management, with additional study in Mechanical Engineering. Mr. Thackrah may be contacted at tthackrah@spexpress.com.
Karen A. Roberts
Corporate Controller
Mrs. Roberts serves as Corporate Controller for SPExpress. Mrs. Roberts oversees the company’s Finance and Human Resources activities and works out of the corporate headquarters located in Tucson, Arizona.
Mrs. Roberts has over ten years of experience in distribution for manufacturers. During that time, her experience has covered corporate finance, human resources and information technology with an emphasis in improving systems and their connectivity. Prior to joining SPExpress, Mrs. Roberts served as Controller of Pratt & Larson Ceramics, a Portland, Oregon based manufacturer and distributer of handmade Ceramic tile. Prior to joining Pratt & Larson, she served as Controller of Tommy Boy Music a record label and joint-venture of AOL Time Warner in New York, New York. In addition, she held various accounting positions with the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
